15 Amp Outdoor Mount DC Power Line Surge Protector

100% total clean sheet design: Custom designed and optimized for full 15  AMP DC operation.
Including components that have been specifically created specifically for full 15 Amp protection service.

Components are rated for 20 amps max but our testing indicates 15 amps to be a better limit.  (depends on safety agency rating, UL shows 20 amps)

Maximum overvoltage and surge suppression protection.
Bi directional circuit protections:
1. Individual overvoltage protection for each pair, separate protection components for the source side and also for the the load side. This protects both load and source from damaging voltage excursions. (Transverse OVP)

2. Individual surge/overvoltage clamping from each of all 4 power conductors conductors to ground. (Longitudinal OVP)

3. Protection on each POE circuit from POE supply overvoltage excursions. This protects all POE connected devices from surge and overvoltage damage.

4. Reverse polarity protection will OVP crowbar the circuit to ground if reverse polarization is attempted.

5. Lumped inductance Choke prevents damaging impulses from passing through the surge suppressor. Protecting both the Source and the Load from damaging surges originating from the opposite end.

6. Series circuit fuse protection. 0-15 amps max.

Each of these circuit protections are protected with three levels of devices:
1. Semiconductor Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) are at the vanguard of protection. They trigger fast and catch the leading edge of any overvoltage excursion or surge.

2. The TVS devices are immediately backed up by Metallic Oxide Varistors (MOVs) that operate in microseconds. They take over the job from the TVS devices and absorb the initial damage.

3. The MOVs are then backed up by Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) devices. They have incredibly high abilities to absorb high energy events. They are the ultimate line of defense to protect your devices.
